Just how much are you paying in commission and what does this cost you per client over the course of a year?

Many restaurants are happy to pay the 10% to 20% commission that restaurant aggregators like Just Eat charge.  They pay it willingly to reach an ever increasing number of potential clients... and it makes sense .. sort of. 

The it may even be worth paying more to land a new loyal customer.

But what about your repeating customers.. the ones who order from you every couple of days? Is it still worth paying the same sales commission time and time again?

We don't think you should be spending the same commission for a client that keeps coming back to you because of your location, food quality and familiarity?

 

Lets do the maths: 

If a repeat client orders an average of £15 a month from you could be spending a 15% commission of £2.70 inc VAT plus the transfer costs of £0.71 (3.5% + 20p ), a grand total on the sale of £3.41. 

That's 22.73% of your total income for that order.

In a year that works out as £40.92 in commissions for a single repeat client over the course of a year. 

So .. how many repeat clients do you have?

If you are anything like me you will probably order from your favourite 3 fast food restaurants.. an Italian, an Indian and a Chinese and you might order from each once a month.

If you look at your delivery addresses you will probably find that 70% of your clients are repeat clients. 

Now.. lets say that you have 2000 repeat orders a month. Thats a total of £81840.00 in commissions that you may be simply throwing away each month.
